Basketball Nets

NWS was asked by one of our clients in Horizon School in Barnsley to supply and install 4 Basketball Systems.
We worked with the client to agree on a type that would suit their site.
The client asked for a socketed system so that if they every required they could remove them with the help of a machine.

Galvanised only posts for hardest wearing.
We decided on a plastic backboard for nice smooth looks and durability within the school environment.
We then incorporated a steel ring and chain system as this would mean no rope net to wear and need maintenance/replacing.

The work was carried out in the half term holidays to avoid any disruption to the school.
4 x 1m3 holes were excavated on day 1 to allow installation of the sockets.

The sockets were installed with readymixed concrete. Access we not avalible direct onto the courts so we had to travel the concrete. All all times protective sheeting was used to guard the floor and stop and concrete stains.

The sockets were then left for 3 days to allow the concrete to cure.
On return to site we insterted the posts into the sockets.
